This historical drama reconstructs the last days in the life of student Sophie Scholl, arrested in February 1943 for distributing anti-Nazi leaflets at the University of Munich. Together with other members of the student resistance movement (White Rose), Sophie was incarcerated, interrogated and brought to justice according to the Nazi laws of the time.
Sophie's harrowing story has been brought to the screen twice before but the recent discovery of transcripts from her interrogation, has shed new light on her role in the movement. The film, which centres on Sophie herself, salutes her courage, tenacity and intelligence.
